Children's Ministry

Cathy Glass, Elder

We began the year with an Easter Egg hunt, which was a great success.  Not only did this give the children a chance to hunt eggs, but it also provided the opportunity for the adults to fellowship, watch the kids, and enjoy a simple lunch.  Things were quiet from that time until Vacation Bible School.

Sunday School is comprised of children in Kindergarten through fifth grade, and we are blessed to have Terri Blocker and MaryBeth Millikin as our teachers.  The class averages about six children each Sunday.

Our Wednesday night program is now called WOW (Worship on Wednesday).  This is a time for the children to work on Bible memorization, crafts and mission projects.  Several children memorized the New Testament books.  In addition, two children were awarded Bibles after they memorized and recited the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Apostle’s Creed.

Our WOW kids are recycling bulletins after each worship service.  They also participated in last year's Community Thanksgiving Dinner by baking cookies at the church and making placemats.  An average of six children participated in this program.

Last Year's Christmas season afforded the children much of opportunity to be a part of their church.  They shopped for Angels for the Angel Tree, went Christmas caroling, and participated in the Christmas Eve Service.

VBS is coming up later in the summer.  More information coming soon!
