Local Mission Funding
1. The organization must provide needed health or human services in the community served by Matthew 25:34-36 - Then the King will say to those at his right hand, Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. 2. Must be a 501(c)(3). 3. Have an active Board of Directors. 4. Notify First Presbyterian Church of all board meetings and allow attendance by the Local Missions Elder when discussion involves the mission of the organization. 5. Have First Presbyterian Church members as active volunteers. 6. Actively participate in the Annual Mission Fair at First Presbyterian Church. 7. Notify the First Presbyterian Church Local Missions Elder of news about the organization and special events or fundraisers so that it can be included in First Presbyterian Church publications, e.g., the bulletin and Presby Press. 8. Provide informational speakers for First Presbyterian Church events and “Minutes for Mission” during Sunday morning services. 9. Make the annual budget of the organization available for review on request by First Presbyterian’s Local Missions Elder. 10. Provide information on how contributed funds are spent. 11. Provide brochures, posters, or other information related to the organization’s mission for display or distribution at First Presbyterian Church. 12. As appropriate, identify First Presbyterian Church as a supporter of the organization. 13. Notify First Presbyterian Church of any matching funds. 14. Host an annual visit by First Presbyterian Local Missions Elder and others to review the organization’s mission, accomplishments, and new developments during the past year, and plans for the upcoming year.
If you would like to apply for funding for your organization, you must meet the following criteria:
First Presbyterian Church. Such services should be available to all members of the community
without discrimination of any type. The mission of the group should be consistent with the
principles of the Biblical passage noted below:
