Our Purpose:
First Presbyterian Church of Lake City, Florida continues to be a mission-focused congregation! Our purpose is to share and support the time, talents, gifts and generosity of our loving members. While our church contributes financially to the various causes
that we support – locally, nationally and globally – we also serve others with our time and
talents. These, too, are valuable commodities that are vital to the support of humankind and spreading the love of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your continued support!
Our Role:
We provide Mission opportunities for the congregation to support. See our list of the events and programs our Mission Outreach committee provides for the community, locally and globally.
Events/Programs
• Loud Offering- Taken the last Sunday every month. Donations go to the backpack program and the Back to School Boutique.
• Good Sam Offering-The little gold envelope, supports our community through the Christian Service Center.
• PCUSA Special Offerings- We have four offerings throughout the year: One Great Hour of Sharing, Joy Gift Offering, Peacemaking Offering, and Pentecost Offering.
• Backpack Program-We provide weekend food for children at Melrose Park Elementary, 30 bags weekly. The congregation can donate food for the program in the bin located in the Fellowship Hall.
• Angel Tree Program-Christmas gifts for the children of incarcerated parents.
• Soles For Success/Happy Feet-Provides shoes for students through the Christian Service Center.
• Missionary Support-We send funds to support two Missionaries.
• Feed My Lambs-Provides meals for the homeless Three times a month. Volunteers can help us with the fourth Thursday of the month by preparing the meal and taking them to serve the homeless.
• Thanksgiving Food Baskets-Thanksgiving baskets are prepared for the Angel Tree families and the Backpack families.
