April Finance Report - Diane Ellis

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I don’t know about you, but I miss our face-to-face interactions and pray that the time of our separation will not be long. I sincerely hope that everyone remains safe and healthy. In the meantime, I am so thankful for our on-line ministry and the forethought and vision of our pastor to instigate it here at First Presbyterian. I personally want to add a big thank you to Jodie Killian for taking the production side of the online ministry up many notches on the professional scale! Kudos to Tim, also, for the beautiful daily concerts to soothe our souls and assuage our anxieties. We have so much to be thankful for!

I am happy to report that, thanks to you, the church’s finances remain in the black. I am thankful for and humbled by your faith and generosity during these uncertain times. However, we can all take heart in the assurances found in 2 Corinthians 9: 6-12:

“The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. As it is written, ‘He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor: his righteousness endures forever.’ He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us; for the rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God.”

May the peace of Christ be with each of you.
