Troop 85 had an amazing Saturday on December 6—one filled with helping hands, full hearts, and a little bit of fishy fun!
The morning kicked off at Parkview Baptist Church, where the troop joined several community organizations to pack meals for Catholic Charities and the Christian Service Center. Working side-by-side with friends and neighbors, everyone helped reach an incredible goal: 70,000 meals packed! The Scouts worked hard, laughed often, and showed what real teamwork looks like.
After a morning of giving back, the adventure continued in the afternoon at the Stevens’ private pond off Branford Highway. There, the Scouts completed requirements for the Fishing merit badge—and they did it all! They caught fish, cleaned fish, cooked fish, and even ate their delicious results. It was quite the “reel” accomplishment!
It was the perfect Troop 85 kind of day: serving the community, learning new skills, and making memories together. Great job, Scouts!
