Music Notes

November is an important month here at FPCLC! Here are just some of the things we have to look forward to this month:

  • Daylight Savings Time ends (don’t forget to “fall back” an hour on Sunday, November 7)

  • Commitment Sunday (also on 11/7), when we commit our pledges for the new church year, plus we have the annual food drive for the Christian Service Center, plus we have lunch together after worship

  • the gratitude, joy, and fellowship of Thanksgiving Day

  • special music for Advent, which begins on November 28 this year, including special services for Longest Night and Christmas Eve

  • learning the Christmas cantata, “One Small Child,” which will be presented during worship on Sunday, December 12

We would love to have a full choir loft every Sunday, but we especially look forward to lots of singers for the cantata and on Christmas Eve! If you would like to join us, we meet for rehearsals at 9am on Sundays. There are also online resources to help with learning some of the Christmas cantata music at home.

If you are interested in participating in music ministry in any capacity at First Presbyterian Church, please feel free to call me in the church office at (386) 752-0670 or email me at tim@fpclc.org.
