This past weekend, Troop 85 embarked on an exciting adventure along the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail, paddling from Suwannee River State Park to the Highway 51 Bridge. Over the course of the trip, the scouts covered nearly 30 miles of beautiful, winding river — a journey filled with teamwork, learning, and plenty of memories.
Along the way, the troop had the unique opportunity to meet a geologist from the University of Florida, who shared fascinating insights about spring protection and the importance of caring for Florida’s natural water systems. The scouts learned firsthand how the region’s delicate ecosystem depends on clean, protected springs.
Troop 85 extends their heartfelt thanks to their charter sponsor for their ongoing support, which makes adventures like this possible. Trips like these not only challenge the scouts physically but also deepen their appreciation for God’s creation and the world around them.
